The day we shot Katie and Ryan’s engagement photos, we knew these two were planning something very special for their big day. Katie and Ryan shared a beautiful wedding day together at the Pump House Bed and Breakfast in Bloomsburg, PA. With a history beginning in 1878, the property was formerly a Tidewater Oil Company pumping station. The Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug Hopkins, a New York City artist and Pump House’s owner and innkeeper, has spent more than 20 years lovingly and painstakingly restoring the foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings.
An elegant and rustic location situated nearby the Catawissa Creek, the Pump House was a tranquil setting for Katie and Ryan’s wedding day. The couple got married outdoors, in the “Sacred Spot”, surrounded by their loved ones and nature. Their reception was held in the brick barn, with its lofty, cathedral ceilings and exposed steel beams.
